Mount Korab 2’764 m/alt is part of the Radika Mountains located in the border between Albania and North Macedonia, therefore It is the highest peak of these two countries, also it is the 4th highest peak in the Balkans. The terrain is mainly meadow but in some places, there are some rocky trails. Tour of Korabi Mountain brings you nearer to astonishing, wild nature. We will live among locals and experience most of their life activities. And of course delicious, local food will refill and makes ready for the adventure. Part of Via Dinarica is one of the most interesting hikes in Albania and all Balkans.

To climb the top of Mont Korab, the tour needs to be done in two days, climbers to reach the top of Korab must be in good health, good fitness condition and keen, accommodation will be in the last village of that area, in the village called Radomira where the starting point will be made from there!

Tirana - Radomire

The Tour departs from Tirana also this tour we can start from (Prizeren,Pristina or Peja) depense of your location we will choose time!  At around 8:00 to drive toward North-East of Albania where we are going to reach the highest peak of the country. From Tirana ex. to get closest village of peak ''Radomira'' where we will have accommodations, situated around 200km in 3h and 30min Drive, on the way to Radomira we would be introduced to some interesting sceneries and how the lifestyle change in between the people. After leaving Kukes behind, a new city rebuilds totally from scratches after the floating of the Old Ones, we are driving deeper to the heart of the mountains. After driving on a bumpy road for a few kilometres, we finally reach Radomira, a village that surprises you on the first view. Lied in some soft hills Radomira is a typical village of the Albanian mountains area where the traditional is mixed with the modern. Details that we find in most of the local houses and infrastructure. After lunch at Radomira, we will have the chance to explore more of this village and visit the “Black Lake” for a warm-up before the big hike of the next day. The “Black Lake” is a glacial origin, gorgeous with a fantastic Flora and Fauna that surround all the area and fanatically protected from the local. Dinner and overnight at the Guesthouse in Radomira.

Radomira - Korabi Summit - Radomira - End of Itinerary

After the Breakfast at the Guesthouse, we will hike toward the Summit of Korab. Korab is the highest peak in Albania and in the 4 highest peaks of Balkans. Reaching the Summit from Radomira, we need to follow a trail of a 16.3 KM (Round Trip). The Maximum Elevation Gain is 1490 m. The trail to the Peak of Korab is an intensive and diverse trail. On our way, the top we would walk through the whole biodiversity starting with the ancient oaks, which are offering a show of colours depends on the season. The trail continues in between pine trees and finally, we reach the mountain grass section where some local shepherds have build up their seasonal huts and take care of their sheep, providing amazing fresh cheese and dairies. Several Stops on the way for picknick lunch and refill water. From the top of Korab we will have an amazing view of the stunning nature of all the area and learn more about some merchants streets of how people use to travel and migrate back in the days. Hike back to the village on the same trail. After reaching Radomira we will drive back to Tirana. Arriving in Tirana in the evening, End of the Tour.
